Dr. David Shawa is board-certified in Pain Management and Anesthesiology, currently serving as the Medical Director of SHARP Treatment. He specializes in a wide range of pain management treatments, including trigger point injections, epidural steroid injections, spinal cord stimulation, and radiofrequency denervation, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of all complex and chronic pain syndromes.
Dr. Shawa graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from George Fox College, where he graduated summa cum laude. Dr. Shawa then received his medical degree from the Oregon Health Services Center and completed his internship and anesthesia residency training at Ocshner Hospital in New Orleans. Before joining SHARP Treatment, Dr. Shawa practiced pain management and anesthesiology at several Louisiana hospitals, including serving as the Chairman of the Anesthesia Department at East Jefferson General Hospital.
As an active participant in the medical community, Dr. Shawa is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pain Medicine, International Spine Intervention Society and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. He also holds hospital affiliations at Torrance Memorial Medical Center and Little Company of Mary Hospital.
Dr. Sonny Justin Rubin is board certified in Pain Management and Anesthesiology specializing in Pain Management at SHARP Treatment of South Bay, he specializes in a wide range of pain management treatments, including trigger point injections, epidural steroid injections, spinal cord stimulation, and radiofrequency denervation, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of all complex and chronic pain syndromes.
Dr. Rubin graduated with his undergraduate degree in Zoology from the University of Florida. He then received his medical degree from Saint George’s University School of Medicine, and completed his internship training in internal medicine at Jersey Shore Medical Center. Dr. Rubin completed his residency training in anesthesiology at USC Medical Center and at Harbor UCLA Medical Center. Before joining the staff at SHARP Treatment, Dr. Rubin was an Anesthesiologist at Downey Regional Medical Center.
In addition to his practice experience, Dr. Rubin is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Pain Society, American Academy of Pain Medicine and the International Spine Intervention Society. He also holds hospital affiliations at Torrance Memorial Hospital and Little Company of Mary Hospital.
